Full lyric mezzo-soprano, Ruby Dibble “commands the stage with her powerful voice, agile movements, and captivating presence” (OperaWire.) Ruby is an extremely versatile artist: as a bilingual singer, she excels in French repertoire, while also being well versed in musical stylings ranging from contemporary classical to musical theater, pop and jazz. She is a Kansas City, Missouri native now based in Frankfurt, Germany, where she is a member of the Oper Studio.
Ruby is a recent graduate of The Juilliard School’s prestigious Artist Diploma in Opera Studies program. Ruby holds degrees from the Curtis Institute of Music as well as the Oberlin Conservatory, and is an alum of prestigious young artist programs such as the Santa Fe Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Glimmerglass Festival and Aspen Music Festival & School. Dibble was a 2024 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition national finalist, the first place winner of the 2024 Annapolis Opera Vocal Competition, a 2024 Marcella Sembrich International Voice Competition finalist, and the second place winner of the 2023 Cooper-Bing Competition.
Dibble has lent her “dark-hued, plummy and rich mezzo soprano” (Opera Today) to roles including Le Prince Charmant (Cendrillon), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Elle (La Voix Humaine), Carmen (Bel Canto), Sesto (La clemenza di Tito) and Blanche de la Force (Dialogues des Carmelites.) Her concert work includes frequenting the Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center in several concerts under the baton of Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and multiple Carnegie Hall engagements, including a solo Carnegie CityWide recital.
Ruby looks forward to making her European debut at Oper Frankfurt as Un Musico (Manon Lescaut), followed by role debuts of Mercédès (Carmen) and Isaura (Tancredi.)
